Government Affairs Mission Statement

Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS® (PMAR) Government Affairs serves as a voice for Realtors throughout the Pocono region at all levels of government – local, state, and national – and advocates for policies that promote and preserve homeownership. We seek to uphold these values in accordance with our mission:

“The Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs Committee identifies and promotes the political interests of its members by supporting policies and political candidates that protect the sanctity of private property rights and affordable housing”


 


About the Government Affairs Committee

The PMAR Government Affairs Committee meets on the second Friday of every month at 9:00am. The Committee develops and maintains strong relationships with elected officials, monitors local ordinances and legislative actions affecting the real estate industry, and develops policy recommendations on behalf of the Association.

All members are encouraged to respond to "Calls-to-Action," occasional notices providing the opportunity for Realtors to make their voices heard on specific legislative issues by contacting their elected representatives. These initiatives are critical to preserving Realtor autonomy and limiting governmental over-reach.

Most importantly, please consider committing to invest in the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). RPAC investments provide our Association with the financial resources necessary to support local political candidates that understand the importance of preserving homeownership and to spearhead local issue campaigns when homeownership rights come under fire.
